Riders Beware

Well, for those of you who know me, this is my last week of traveling for work! It's bittersweet. All the people on my current project are great, but will be good to be local and sleep in my own bed now. I learned so much from this project and got a lot of perks from traveling (see Disney / San Juan / Seattle / Miami / Colorado / etc.). I know this is a short post, but I'll be posting a lot more soon and have been working on a lot of pictures, so I'm excited to share them all! This picture was at the Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Enjoy and lots more to come!
Gum Wall

This is the picture of the famous "Gum Wall" near Pike's Place Market in Seattle, WA. Two out of the three times I have visited Seattle, the weather has been beautiful and it is such an amazing city. I haven't been around for any of the rain, just the insane snow storm. Although, we stayed outside of the city and I have to say, the traffic in / around Seattle is absolutely horrendous. We had to leave about 45 minutes early if we were going to a place 10 miles away. Just terrible! But that hasn't turned me off from the city. This wall has way too much gum on it and the wall across from it has started to morph into it's own wall, even with a big sign that says "Do not place gum on wall". What are they to expect? You say not do something, people just do it anyways.
Grove Arcade

Recently, we decided to take a trip to Asheville, NC before we headed down to Georgia to visit family.

Prior to going to eat at an AMAZING breakfast spot (Tupelo Honey), we walked through an indoor shopping center called the Grove Arcade – not the typical arcade that I’m used to but just as cool. Lots of nice, niche shops, but none had opened yet, so was able to capture this with very minimal foot traffic.
South Beach Tides

The picture this week is of the The Tides Hotel South Beach. I was able to travel down to Miami for work for two weeks and was able to bring my camera with me and take a lot of great shots. Miami has a great Art Deco district and some of the hotels right on South Beach are great. They remind me of something from a 1970's gangster film, but with a little Vegas flair. I sat outside this hotel for about 15 minutes waiting for a car parked in front of me to hopefully move, but they never decided to move. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a small bottom portion of the sidewalk and hotel, but I still think the shot turned out great.
It's Miller Time

The Miller Theater is located in downtown Augusta, Georgia. It closed in the ’80′s during the decline of downtown Augusta and has sat unused since then. The style of the theater is Arte Moderne and is apparently the last remaining theater of it’s type in Georgia. During it’s prime, stars like Eddie Arnold and Katherine Hepburn have performed at and visited the theater. It was also home to the Augusta Theater and Augusta Ballet. A few years ago, a local businessman in Augusta bought the theater and is looking to try to restore it back to it’s original form. More pictures of the abandoned theater can be seen here. I love the weathered look of this theater. You can tell by the grand entrance that years ago this would have been an amazing theater to visit. I could imagine getting out an old mafia car, rocking a big cigar, bow tie, cane and a top hat, goin to see a show at the theater.
Gas Works Pipes

This picture was taken up in Seattle at the Gas Works Park. It is such a cool park. All kinds of old pipes in bright colors with a beautiful view of the city. The park is a place you could spend hours at photographing.
Blue Haze

The picture was taken during our recent trip to San Juan. Got a new camera for the trip (Sony NEX) and it is awesome. It's a step above from a point and shoot, but produces some great images. With some simple post-processing, you are able to produce a very cool image. The picture was taken near the San Juan Gate. It's a great place and you'll definitely be seeing a lot more pictures coming out from the trip soon enough.
